COVID PROTOCOL

MICOS PROTECTS YOU EVERY DAY

AT HOME

  • Parents will take their children’s temperature before leaving home. If the temperature is 37°C or higher, they will not be allowed to attend school.
  • If a child has a fever, he/she must stay at home until the fever disappears, remaining at home 24 hours without fever or medication. It would be appropriate to consult a paediatrician if the fever persists.
  • If a child has a persistent and continuous cough, it is advisable to stay at home as a preventive measure.
  • If you are waiting for the results of a diagnostic test from a close contact of the child, wait until we have a negative result before attending school.

UPON ARRIVAL AT MICOS

  • All students are organized in Stable Coexistence Groups (SCG). This means that they will only have contact with children from their own SCG.
  • We have individualised entrances and exits for each SCG with distinctive doors and timetables.
  • At the Micos’ entrance we will take the temperature of each student again.
  • We will disinfect all children’s hands with hydro alcoholic gel.
  • All students will pass through a disinfectant doormat to clean their footwear, before going inside Micos.
  • When the entrance is finished, Micos staff will disinfect the entire route that children have made, in such a way that the next group who comes through will find everything disinfected.
  • In order to assist the SCG, only students and teachers shall have access to the school. Entry is totally restricted to anyone outside the teaching team or the student body.

AT SCHOOL

  • Classrooms are well-ventilated to minimise the concentration of C02 and therefore the possibility of infection. Levels will be constantly measured to provide an optimal ventilation.
  • Children cannot bring toys or objects from home, so they only manipulate material and toys from their own SCG.
  • Each child will bring a cup that they will take home every day in order to bring it back cleaned the next day.
  • If children take naps at Micos, they must bring a fitted crib sheet (60x120cm) which will also come back to home every day to be changed for another one or to be disinfected.
  • Handwashing of staff and students is constant, because it is a very important preventive measure.

OUR TEAM

  • All teaching team wear FFP2 masks all the time. Our pupils, being under 6 years old, are exempt from wearing masks.
  • Protective screens are also available to Micos’ team when it is required.
  • The uniform worn by all Micos team members, including footwear, is used exclusively inside the school in order to minimise the risk of bringing in any type of pathogenic agent from outside the school.
  • The whole team has received specialised training in relation to action protocols in the school setting.
  • The teaching and non-teaching team of Micos is included in the COVID-19 vaccination campaign as a key professional group.

COVID SYMPTOMATOLOGY

  • If there is any suspicion that a child has symptoms that are compatible with Covid-19 during the school day, that child will be isolated with an adult and protected with a mask while his or her family comes to pick him or her up.
